Another alumina plant to be set up

KORAPUT: Surya Narayan Patro, Energy Minister, hoisted the National Flag at the police parade grounds on the occasion of Independence Day celebrations here on Wednesday. Highlighting the importance of rapid industrialisation in the State, he said another alumina factory will be set up in the undivided Koraput district by L&T company soon.

Highlighting his Government’s achievements, he said each block would have a seed bank, soil testing laboratory and agro clinic as a part of strengthening agriculture in the State, he added.

Earlier, he attended the District Planning Board’s annual meeting. The district has received Rs. 36 crores from NREGA, Rs. 21 crores under Biju KBK project and Rs. 14 crores from Backward Region Grant Fund, he said .
