227 industries to provide jobs to over 11, 000 persons


Car manufacturing unit in Muppireddypalli

A total outlay of Rs. 900 crore for industries


Sangareddy: Minister for Major Industries J.Geetha Reddy, delivering her Independence Day speech at the Police Parade Grounds here after hoisting the national flag, said that 227 major and medium industries would be established in the district with a total outlay of Rs. 900 crore providing employment to over 11000 persons.

The Minister informed that MLR motors company is setting up a car manufacturing unit in Muppireddypalli of Toopran mandal at a cost of Rs. 1250 crore, MRF’s expansion at a cost of Rs.150 crore and the CCMB’s translational unit in Karkapatla Biotech park.

Irrigation facilities

Our Karimnagar Staff Reporter writes: Chief Minister Y S Rajashekhar Reddy will soon lay foundation stone for the construction of Thotapalli and Gouravelli reservoirs across the SRSP flood flow canal to transform the upland Indurthi Assembly segment, said T. Jeevan Reddy, Minister for Roads and Buildings, here on Wednesday. He said that the ambitious ring road connecting the interior Mahadevpur, Adavi Mutharam, Kataram was also being taken up at a cost of Rs 37.50 crore.

‘Jala Yagnam’

Our Nalgonda Staff Reporter writes: Home Minister K. Jana Reddy has observed that ‘Jala Yagnam’ launched by the Y.S.Rajasekhara Reddy Government would change the face of the State in the next couple of years.

He termed ‘Jala Yagnam’ as the “permanent solution” for the years of drought conditions. Accompanied by the ZP Chairperson K.Narayana Reddy, MLA K.Venkat Reddy, Municipal chairperson P.Venkatanarayana Goud and the Collector M.Purushottam Reddy, the Home Minister unveiled the statues of Mahatma Gandhi at Ramagiri.

Prestigious medals

Our Nizamabad Staff Reporter writes: Deputy IG of Police (Nizamabad range), Anjanikumar and Head Constable (Civil) Jaladevar Malgonda received the prestigious Indian Police Medals from the hands of Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy. The medal was announced to Mr. Kumar, a 1990 batch IPS officer by the Central Government on the last Republic Day for his meritorious services in the police department.

Minister for Higher Education D. Srinivas gave away the certificates to them on the occasion of celebration of the 60th Independence Day on the Police Parade Grounds.

Housing scheme

Our Adilabad Staff Reporter writes: Labour Minister G. Vinod on Wednesday assured of grounding of weaker section houses under all schemes in the district by end of September.

Irrigation top prority

Our Warangal staff reporter adds: The State Government focussed on improving the existing medium and minor water sources in the district, said Tribal Welfare Minister D. S. Redya Naik.

Later in the evening, Mr Redya Naik hosted ‘At Home’ for select gathering which was attended by the VIPs. District Collector K. Damayanthi, Superintendent of Police Soumya Mishra and others were present.
