NEW DELHI: The Delhi High Court has issued a notice to the Delhi Government on an application by the amicus curiae in the Blueline buses accidents case, submitting that 812 buses were “challaned” for various violations, including 12 buses for over-speeding, after they were examined and given the green signal to run last month. The application filed by Anoop J. Bhambhani submitted that the violations amounted to contempt of court. He urged the Court to summon counterfoils of the “challans” and other records pertaining to these buses so that they could be prosecuted. He submitted that these buses were found violating the guidelines and challaned for the same between July 21 and August 1. A Division Bench comprising Justices Mukul Mudgal and P.K. Bhasin asked the State Government to file a reply to the petition by August 23.
