REKONG PEO (KINNAUR): Himachal Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh on Wednesday announced an increase in the minimum daily wages for temporary workers. They will now get Rs. 80 per day instead of Rs. 75. The wages of home guards have also been increased to Rs. 150 from Rs. 130. Speaking on the 61st Independence Day here at the headquarters of Kinnaur, he said his Government was committed to regularising all daily wage and contract workers in a phased manner. He unfurled the Tricolour and took the salute at an impressive march-past presented by contingents of the Police and Home Guards.
