VISAKHAPATNAM: Former Union Minister and TDP Polit Bureau member S. Venugopalachary has favoured reservation for Brahmins lagging behind in all sectors. Participating in a political awareness convention of the north Coastal districts organised by Viswa Vipra Samakhya at PV Narasimha Rao pranganam here on Wednesday, he said the one crore community was being given a raw deal by all political parties. Visakhapatnam -I MLA Dronamraju Srinivasa Rao wanted Brahmins to take up service activities as political parties were recognising such leaders. BJP city president P.V. Narayana Rao felt the growth of the community was hindered by economic backwardness and it could be overcome by united efforts. Sadguru Krishna Yaji (Sri Suryapeetham, Garividi); Rejeti Ramanajucharyulu (Marutipeetham, Anakapalle); Yaddanapudi Ayyanna Pantulu (Sri Mahakameswaripeetham, Visakhapatnam), Morta Siraramcharyulu (chief priest of Simhachalam Devasthanam) blessed the gathering. Samakhya convener Nandivada Srinivasa Rao, member S. Veerabhadra Rao, S. Gopal, Chairman of AP Building and Other Construction Workers’ Welfare Board, former corporator Bulusu Jagadish, convener of TSR Sevapeetham Cheruvu Anjaneyulu, Vizianagaram District Brahmin Association Chairman K.P. Eswar, advocate Kandala Srinivasa Raoand trade union leader V.V. Vamana Rao were among the participants.
