New Delhi: The Rashtrapati Bhavan on Tuesday described a claim by two Mumbai-based persons that they can facilitate a meeting with President Pratibha Patil for a sum as “totally mischievous, unauthorised and illegal.” TV channel report
The reaction came following a television channel report that Sanjay Bhide and Niranjan Ganjawala claimed they could arrange a meeting with the President for Rs. 22,000. The report said Mumbai’s Trans-Asia Chamber of Commerce sent out messages that those who wanted to meet the President should join the firm and submit their photographs and money. Rashtrapati Bhavan spokesman S.M. Khan said: “This is to clarify that no such person by the name of Sanjay Bhide or Niranjan Ganjawala as reportedly mentioned in the message or any other person has been authorised to bring people to meet the President. Legal steps
“Any such communication by any person is totally mischievous, unauthorised and illegal. Necessary legal steps are also being taken in this regard.” Appointment needed
The spokesman said anyone could meet the President after taking an appointment. — PTI
