Amara Raja plans capacity expansion

CHENNAI: The board of directors of Amara Raja Batteries has approved an investment of Rs. 65 crore to enhance its industrial VRLA battery capacity. Jayadev Galla, Managing Director said that the capacity addition would happen in phases and the company was looking to fund this with internal accruals and term loans. The proposal of a stock split from Rs. 10 to Rs. 2 was also approved by the shareholders at the AGM held on Tuesday.
