Iboyaima Laithangbam

IMPHAL: Manipur Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh on Wednesday called upon insurgents to come to the negotiating table for thrashing out all differences.

“Without peace and stability there can be no development and violence is hampering all developmental works,” Mr. Singh said in his Independence Day message.

He also took the salute from the contingents at the celebrations held on 1 Manipur Rifles ground.

Governor S.S. Sidhu said that Independence should not be construed as separatism. He appealed to everyone to sink differences and work for peace.
