Detained

City Police Commissioner C.K. Gandhirajan has ordered the detention of Sait alias Asghar Ali (21) and Rahamathullah (23) under the National Security Act. The duo were reportedly ‘involved’ in the murder of Ameena (33) of Karumbukkadai on July 6. It is learnt that the duo were employed by the brother (an undertrial in the serial blasts case) and the sister of the deceased, "since the conduct of the deceased was bringing disrepute to the family besides violating the moral code of conduct of their faith.” They had surrendered before magistrate courts at Erode and Mettuppalayam. They have been lodged at the Salem Central Prison.
