Coimbatore: Eight records were shattered in the 33rd Tamil Nadu State shooting championship at the Coimbatore Rifle Club range here on Wednesday.

Off the eight records that took a tumble, the Coimbatore shooters bettered four. Local boy N.B. Vignesh Krishna, who broke the 50m pistol record for junior men on Tuesday, added one more to his record kitty by clinching the sub-junior men 10m air pistol gold with a record score of 348. The results: 10m open sight air rifle: Men: 1. K. Jeeva (HVF) 287 (NR); 2. G. Manikandan (HVF); 3. A.M. Jothi Lingam (HVF). OR: S. Velu Shankar 279 (2000). Junior men: 1. P.
