Two NSG officers get Police Medal

NEW DELHI: Two National Security Guard officers have been awarded the Police Medal for Meritorious Service on Independence Day this year.
Awardees
Jayachandran Nair, Assistant Commander-I, who belongs to the Central Reserve Police Force, has had an unblemished career spanning over 26 years during which he was posted in Nagaland, Manipur, Assam, Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir.
He was awarded Commendation Disc by the Directors-General of CRPF and NSG in 2003 and 2005, respectively. At present he is posted as private secretary to the NSG Director-General.
Commandant Rajinder Kumar Bhumbla, who has also been conferred the Police Medal for Meritorious Service, had joined Sashatra Seema Bal in 1987.
He has the distinction of serving in militancy-infested Punjab and insurgency-infested Nagaland. He is presently posted as Group Commander.
