Transporter moves High Court

BANGALORE: A transporter on Thursday moved the Karnataka High Court against what he alleged was illegal seizure of his private bus (stage carrier) by the Bangalore police. The petitioner, G.V. Chandrashekar, said the Inspector of Madivala police station in Bangalore had seized the vehicle when it was bound for Hosur from Bangalore. He claimed that the police had no powers to seize a bus and sought a direction from the court to release it. — Staff Reporter
