BHOPAL: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan has announced that the ex-gratia relief given to families of police personnel who lay down their life on the altar of duty while combating naxalites or criminals anywhere in the State would be doubled now from Rs. 5 lakh to Rs. 10 lakh. Efforts praised
The Chief Minister made this announcement at a function held at his residence to honour the winners of the Police Medals on Independence Day. Mr. Chauhan complimented the police force for displaying exemplary courage and bravery in freeing the Chambal ravines from the terror of dacoits. He praised the efforts and commitment demonstrated by the police force in tackling the dacoit menace and improving the law and order situation in the Chambal region. “The police personnel who showed exceptional bravery in eliminating the dacoits deserve full appreciation and complements from the people of Madhya Pradesh,” he said, hoping that the dacoits entering the Bundelkhand region from other States would also be eliminated.
