Charitable deed: Adilabad Superintendent of Police, Anil Kumar, handing over a bed sheet to a tribal woman at the health camp organised at Sirikonda in Ichoda mandal on Thursday.
ADILABAD: Adilabad Superintendent of Police, Anil Kumar, on Thursday called for making blood donation a compulsory activity for the beneficiaries of Youth Welfare schemes. He said linking of blood donation with youth oriented schemes would go a long way in promoting the activity. Inaugurating the blood donation camp at Ichoda mandal head quarters and a health camp at Sirikonda in the same mandal, Mr Anil Kumar said, women in rural areas in the district needed urgent attention of the medical department. He said an unusually large number of women anaemic due to lack of proper nutrition. The camps were jointly organised by the Revenue, Police, Medical and Health Departments and Indian Red Cross Society with Vasudha Foundation, a charity organisation from Hyderabad, providing medicines worth Rs. 60,000 and a few hundred bed sheets that were distributed among the poor people who attended the camp. About 100 youth from Ichoda and Sath number gaon, besides some police personnel donated blood at the camp. President of the Indian Medical Association, district branch, M.
