Project may cost Rs. 1.3 crore, says Minister HGML donates air blower to the temple
Bidar: The State Government will build a Yatri Nivas at the Narsimha Zarni cave temple on the outskirts of Bidar. The State Government will spend Rs. 1.3 crore on building a lodging, a toilet complex, and a road to the temple. These works will be financed by a grant by the Department of Endowments, Agriculture Minister and district in-charge Bandeppa Kashempur said in Bidar on Thursday. The temple is managed by the district administration now. The place of worship attracted people from Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra. However, facilities for the visitors were lacking and there were no lodgings in the temple premises. Donation
According to parking ticket and gate pass sales, up to 7,000 people visited the temple on Saturdays and Mondays. The temple received Rs. 30 lakh a year as donation from devotees. “If we provide better facilities, more people will visit. We can turn it into a centre of spiritual tourism of national standards,” the Minister said. He said minor repairs to the cave would be completed in a month. The Minister thanked V.M. David, Managing Director of Hatti Gold Mines Ltd., for overhauling the air blower inside the cave, free of cost. “The company has gifted us equipment and materials worth Rs. 2 lakh,” the Minister said. A technical team of the company had camped in Bidar and completed the work in 36 days. It had replaced the air carrying zinc pipes with non-corrosive high density plastic pipes. Felicitated
The Minister felicitated the HGML team, including M.A. Majid, Prakash Kumar, M. Adappa, S. Hauligeppa, P. Subramanyam, Chand Pasha and Anna Durai. Deputy Commissioner Munish Moudgil said thin plastic bags would be banned inside the temple premises. Several steps would be taken to beautify the temple premises, he said. Assistant Commissioner A.M. Bevur, tahsildar Manikappa Mangalgi, and temple manager S. Manjunath were present.
