250 kilograms of PDS rice seized

VIRUDHUNAGAR: Revenue officials seized 50 bags of ration rice, each weighing 50 kg, from a mini-lorry and arrested the driver, P. Neethi (29), of Madurai, at Rajapalayam on Thursday.

The police said that during a surprise check the Rajapalayam Taluk Supply Officer, Ramasamy, intercepted the vehicle proceeding to Madurai from Alangkulam, near Kothankulam.

The seized vehicle, materials and the driver were handed over to the police.
