SWANK LOOK: A view of the Balayogi Paryatak Bhavan.
HYDERABAD: Katriya Hotel & Towers has bagged the contract to run on a 25-year lease, the 84-room hotel on the premises of the ‘Balayogi Paryatak Bhavan’ at Greenlands here. The Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC) had handled the construction of the complex, touted as a one-stop shop for traveller and formally inaugurated in April this year. Among those who bid were the Hotel Viceroy, now Marriott, and the Amogh Group. Of the 84 rooms, 20 were set apart for the corporation and General Administration Department, for which a specified amount would be paid to Katriya every month, said APTDC Managing Director Raymond Peter. The three-stage bidding process had assessed the technical and financial aspects of bidding, apart from their competency, he said. Commercial space
An important component of the Rs. 34 crore Paryatak Bhavan is the availability of 34,000 square feet of commercial space. Rental for commercial space is Rs. 70, Rs. 60 and Rs. 50 per sq. ft, for the ground, first and second floors, respectively. Of this space, 22,500 sft was already booked by different States and stakeholders in the tourism industry. The 20 counters and shops already taken include those of Incredible India (Ministry of Tourism, Government of India), tourism departments of Jammu & Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh and Orissa, Lepakshi and TRIFED. Some more confirmations were coming, said APTDC General Manager Sumeet Singh. Parking space
The swank complex has parking for about 160 vehicles in the basement and for about 100 more vehicles in the open, on the ground. In course of time, APTDS is working with intent to have offices of every tourism department of every State in the complex. Currently, APTDC runs its marketing office in the complex, apart from a small, Central Reservation Office.
