Nominations invited for Birla science prizes

Hyderabad: The B.M. Birla Science Centre has asked the heads of research and educational institutions and universities for nominations for the B.M. Birla Science prize in chemistry and biology for the year 2006.
Rs. 1 lakh
There is a prize of Rs. 1 lakh in each subject for outstanding original contributions in the concerned field by a young scientist resident in India who is not more than 40 years of age as on December 31, 2006 – that is he/she should have been born on or after December 31, 1966.
In triplicate
All nominations should be sent in triplicate including a full list of publications and up to five of the best papers as also the specific work for nomination, curriculum vitae and the formal nomination itself.
There are no nomination forms.
Last date
The nominations should reach Dr. B.G. Sidharth, Director-General, B.M. Birla Science Centre, Adarsh Nagar, Hyderabad, before August 30, according to a press release issued here.
