The scheme is in compliance with the national policy

NEW DELHI: In keeping with the directive of the Supreme Court, a scheme for street vendors, squatters and weekly bazaars has been formulated by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi.

The scheme is in compliance with the national policy on urban street vendors.

In a statement on Thursday, the MCD said details of the scheme and eligibility conditions could be accessed from the website www.mcdonline.gov.in.

Completed application forms in the prescribed format have to be submitted by September 16 to the Citizen Service Bureau of the zone concerned.

Application requirements include two passport size photographs, an affidavit about the age, economic condition, status (differently-abled/ war-widow/ MCD employee kin) of the applicant, and a processing charge of Rs.100. Existing squatters/hawkers are also required to apply under the present scheme.

Physically challenged persons who have already applied for allotment of PCO booths and who have been assigned a “Priority Number” at the zonal level need not apply again. Those who have not been given a “Priority Number” may apply afresh.
