The Telugu manuscripts of `Vaidika, Agama and Dharma sastras, Veda mantras, Bhagavatham, Arya Vivaham and Aswaropanayana’, dating back to the 17th and 18th centuries were donated by Thalakapalle Venkataramanaiah and his son Venkataramaiah of Nandyal and Kamalakara Sarma, K.C. Kalkura and Gottumukkala Subrahmanyam Sastry of Kurnool, Prof. Ramachandra Reddy said.

The Vice-Chancellor called upon people possessing ancient palm leaf manuscripts pertaining to culture and historical significance to donate them to the Centre.

He said that there was every need to preserve the rare scripts as they give an insight to our history and culture. The preservation was being done with chemicals and digitalisation. Research associate K. Narasimhulu thanked the donors.
