Two jawans killed in landmine blast

SRINAGAR: At least two jawans of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) were killed and six injured when a vehicle was blasted by an improvised explosive device (IED) in Kavani village in Anantnag district on Friday.
CRPF spokesperson Prabhakar Tripathi said that the vehicle was on its way from Sangam to Panzgam when the IED planted on the road was detonated.
Azad Ahmad and S.K. Patra of the 130 Battalion were killed on the spot. Six others were injured. The condition of two of them is stated to be critical. The area was immediately cordoned off to flush out militants.
