Kochi: The two-day The Hindu Opportunities Fair will open at Assisi Vidyaniketan Public School, Chembukukku here, on Saturday. Thousands of qualified job-seekers, mostly in the Information Technology sector, are expected to show up looking for job openings. Close to 30 companies will participate in the fair. The fair will begin at 10 a.m. and close at 4 p.m. on both days. The fair has Cognizant as presenting sponsor and SFO Technologies as associate sponsor. Aptech is the training sponsor and The Raymond Shop, Kochi, the grooming partner. TMI First, the technology partner, will take care of the registration process and other technical requirements. This is the first time the fair is coming to Kochi. The Opportunities Fair has so far been held in Chennai (four times), Hyderabad, Coimbatore, Bangalore (three times each), Thiruvananthapuram (twice), Vizag, Madurai and Tiruchirapalli. Cognizant has been the presenting sponsor of all the fairs. In the four years after the fair was launched, more than four lakh job aspirants have either registered or attended the various fairs. On an average, 30 companies have participated in the fairs. The event offers an excellent opportunity to candidates with good communication skills. Fresh graduates and postgraduates from any discipline, including the engineering stream, could come in. Those with less than two years of experience will be considered as fresh hands.
