Farmers walk out of grievance day meet

VIRUDHUNAGAR: A group of farmers belonging to the Tamil Nadu Vivasayigal Sangam staged a walk out from the monthly farmers’ grievance day meeting protesting the “inaction” on part of the district administration on “illegal land grabbing” activities in the district, here on Friday. The protest, led by its district secretary, A. Vijayamurugan, also demanded fencing along the Western Ghats to protect farm lands from being destroyed by wild animals.

They sought compensation and Government job to the heir of a farm hand who was killed by a bison near Rajapalayam recently.
