SATTUR: Thousands of devotees from the southern districts thronged the Mariamman temple at Irrukkangudi near here on the occasion of the last Friday of the Tamil month of ‘Adi.’
The ‘urchavamoorthi’ was taken in procession from Irukkangudi village to the temple across the Arjuna river.
After a night-long special puja, the idol would be taken back to the ‘urchava sannathi’ on Saturday.
