Plan to promote power conservation in Pink City

Special Correspondent

Consumers to get one CFL free with each CFL bought

Similar scheme was very successful in Delhi and Haryana

JAIPUR: Indo Asian Fusegear Limited (IAFL), a leading manufacturer of electrical equipment and switchgears, has signed a memorandum of understanding with Jaipur Vidyut Vitran Nigam Ltd. (JVVNL) to promote use of energy-efficient CFLs (Compact Flouroscent Lamps) among the power consumers here in Jaipur. The MoU entails schemes to provide energy conservation and electrical safety products.

Under scheme each JVVNL consumer would get one CFL free with each CFL of Indo Asian bought from any kiosk of IAFL outside the collection centres of JVVNL on producing a copy of his or her electricity bill.

“After the overwhelming response from the people of Delhi and Haryana, we are launching the same scheme in Jaipur,” said Indo Asian Fusegear Limited Chairman and Managing Director V.P. Mahendru. “This is yet another step by IAFL to promote energy conservation. We are delighted at this opportunity to sell our range of environment friendly CFLs to the people of Jaipur,” he said. The current scheme, up to February 16, 2008, is extendable on mutual agreement.

“Our objective is to bring down the consumption of energy in the city by providing effective and economic ways to consumers in energy savings. This has further reinforced our objective of energy management, which is designing products that not only protect and control but also conserve and manage electrical energy,” Mr. Mahendru said.

IAFL is the largest global supplier of circuit breakers and lighting equipment. It started manufacturing CFLs in 1997 at Noida in technical arrangement with M/s. Korea Advance Lighting Company Limited, Seoul. The company markets its CFLs under the brand Indo Asian.
