HASSAN: Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy will visit Arkalagud on Sunday and address a public meeting at the Pattabhirama High School grounds at 2.30 p.m. According to A.T. Ramaswamy, MLA, the Chief Minister will lay the foundation stone of a new bridge across the Cauvery to connect Ramanathapuram and Periyapatna being constructed at a cost of Rs. 8 crore. Substation
The Chief Minister will also inaugurate a substation constructed at a cost of Rs. 4.63 crore at Rudrapatna, a platform constructed at a cost of Rs. 2 crore at the tobacco market, a primary health centre and a First Grade Degree College for Women at Ramanathapuram, a Morarji Desai Residential School for minorities and a post-matric hostel for girls at Arkalagud, a Morarji Desai School for Scheduled Caste students at Mallipatna and a post-matric hostel for minorities at Konanur. Minister for Women and Child Development H. K. Kumarswamy said the Chief Minister would inaugurate 17 schemes at Belur on August 20. The Chief Minister will visit Chennakeshava temple and offer prayers. The Minister said he would appeal the Chief Minister to initiated measures to clean the Vishnu Samudra at Belur at a cost of Rs 20 crore. Ministers M.P. Prakash, H.D. Revanna, R. Srinivas, Basavaraj Horatti, H.S. Mahadeva Prasad, Balachandra Jarkiholi, B. Sriramulu and Iqbal Ansari will also participate in the functions.
