Agitating residents held

VILLUPURAM: About 50 residents, including 20 women, of Santhaipettai blocked traffic on the Asanur Road in Thirukkoilur block near here on Friday, demanding regular water supply. They alleged that the supply was erratic, and even during the ongoing local festival, they could not get adequate water. Hence, they had come to protest.

When they did not heed the police direction to clear the road, they were arrested.
