BELLARY: After training rural girls who had passed the SSLC examination in business process outsourcing (BPO) skills, from rural areas, JSW Foundation will now train graduates in Bellary. The training centre here was inaugurated by Home Minister M.P. Prakash on Friday. The Bellary centre, which will be looked after by Jsoft Solutions Ltd., a newly formed independent software arm of the JSW group, will provide jobs for around 300 graduates. To start with, the BPO centre here will provide non-voice services. It will later be upgraded into a full-fledged BPO unit providing voice services. “Instead of students going in search of jobs in major cities, we thought of bringing the jobs to their doorstep. Preference will be given to women graduates at the centre here,” said Sajjan Jindal, Managing Director of JSW Steels Ltd., a multi-crore integrated steel plant at Toranagal. The students, who have been selected to work in the BPO unit, will be trained for six months with stipend. Sangita Jindal, wife of Sajjan Jindal and chairperson of JSW Foundation, said that it had been planned that around 25 centres would be opened at various places outside Bangalore and Mysore in the next two years.Mr. Prakash, commended the ventures of Mr. Jindal and his wife and said that people had started getting the benefits of these ventures. “They deserve kudos for discharging their corporate social responsibilities and showing concern for the welfare of the people in rural areas.”
