Port strike ends

KOCHI: Container truck traffic to the Cochin Port Trust resumed on Friday afternoon following the settlement of the containers truck crews’ demand for bonus in a negotiation held in the presence of the District Collector on Friday. It was decided that the drivers of the truck and trailers would be paid an interim bonus of Rs.3,750 and the cleaners Rs.1,875 by August 21. The rest of the demands will be discussed at a meeting to be held on September 6. — Special Correspondent
