Dengue treatment sought under Rajiv Arogya Sri
Staff Reporter
ANANTAPUR: The Jana Vignana Vedika (JVV) on Thursday urged the State Government to include treatment for dengue fever under ‘Rajiv Aarogya Sri’ community health insurance scheme, as the disease was spreading fast.
Cases of dengue were increasing every day in the district, JVV leaders said.
State vice president M. Geyanand, district president D. Srinivasa Reddy and vice president E.T. Ramamurthy said here that the virus causing dengue fever was spreading at an alarming rate among children in the district. Health committee of JVV had already expressed fear that the disease could hit 3-4 of every 100 children in Anantapur town alone.
Requesting the civic administration to take measures against the mosquito menace in the town they stated that seven children had died of dengue in the district in July.
