MANGALORE: Raaga Sangama Sangeetha Sabha, Puttur, has organised a musical evening at “Nataraja vedike” of Sri Mahalingeshwara temple in Puttur on Sunday. The organisation was founded in 2005 at Puttur with the intention of popularising Hindustani classical music. The musical evening will feature a Carnatic vocal recital followed by Hindustani vocal programme. Details
Puttur Panduranga Nayak, joint secretary of the sabha told presspersons here on Friday that young vocalist Swasthishree, disciple of Vidushi Veena Raghavendra of Puttur would get the programme underway with a Carnatic vocal recital. This would be followed by a Hindustani vocal concert by S. Shreepad Hegde of Sirsi. The entry for the programme is free for all people. The sabha was running under the patronage of music lovers. The organisation had been presenting qualitative cultural programmes without entry fee, Mr. Nayak said. Seeking music lovers to support its various activities, Mr. Nayak said that in future, the sabha wanted to arrange guest lecture-demonstrations.
