Sky marshal arrested

SRINAGAR: A sky marshal on deputation to a private airline was arrested on Friday for allegedly harassing a woman passenger.

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, who was also on board, ordered the arrest.

Police sources told The Hindu that the Air Deccan flight from Srinagar to Delhi was about to take off at 12.45 p.m. when the Chief Minister summoned senior police officers and asked them to take cognisance of the incident.

Sources said Sky Marshal Krishan Kumar (28) seated next to a young woman allegedly handed over a slip saying that he loved her and made suggestive comments. As other passengers learnt about the incident they refused to let the plane take off.
