HYDERABAD: Alfred Absolom, Hyderabad’s Ranji Trophy team mediumpacer, is the latest player to join the Indian Cricket League, a parallel set-up to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), according to sources in the Hyderabad Cricket Association. The 21-year-old cricketer, who was the second highest wicket-taker with 24 wickets in Ranji Trophy last season for Hyderabad (after Pragyan Ojha’s 29), signed the deal late last night. With this the number of Ranji cricketers who have signed from Hyderabad has gone up to eight. There is no official reaction from the HCA as the top brass is waiting for the final decision by the BCCI at its special general body meeting on August 21. — Principal Correspondent
