Udayaraj-Lokesh duo registers comfortable win

CHENNAI: The Udayaraj-Lokesh pair (PS) defeated Dharani and Mahesh duo 50-39, 68-20 in the Madras United Club non-medallist doubles snooker quarterfinal match at the club premises here.

Big win for TNSP

Tamil Nadu Special Police trounced Quaid-e-Milleth College 5-0 in a senior division women’s football league match organised by the CFA women’s wing here.

Madrasa-i-Azam is champion

Madrasa-i-Azam, with 72 points, emerged the overall champion in the St. Bede’s centenary inter-school athletics meet held recently.

V.B. Pranav (St. Bede’s) in super seniors, John Fredrick (Santhome HSS) and S.A. Syed Kabeer Abhmad (Madrasa-i-Azam) in seniors and Md. Yusuf (Madrasa-i-Azam) in juniors were adjudged individual champions in their respective categories.

C.N. Paramasivam, Founder and President of ‘SMILE’, Chennai was the chief guest at the prize distribution function. S.S. Nathan, Principal, Bala Vidya Mandir presided.

Camp for spinners

The MAC Spin Foundation will conduct a camp for trainers from all over India from August 20 to 24 under the expertise of Raghuram Bhat, former India left-arm spinner and National Cricket Academy coach.
Volleyball seminar

The FIVB-Technical volleyball Seminar on defence/serve/libero will be held from August 18 to 22 at FIVB Regional Development Centre for volleyball, Nehru Stadium here. Miloslav E Jem of Czech Republic will be the seminar director.

Junior badminton

The Tamil Nadu junior inter-district and junior state badminton championship will be held at Kamalam John Samuel Indoor Stadium, Ambattur, from August 22 to 26.
