One killed in clashes

VILLUPURAM: One person was killed in clashes between activists of the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi and the Desiya Murpokku Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam over the temple festival at Keelpaadhi village near here. The police said there was a difference of opinion between the two parties in taking out the temple procession on Friday. C. Duraikannu (45) and R. Saritha (20) of the DMDK were injured in the clashes that ensued. They were admitted to the Puducherry government hospital, where Duraikanndu died on Saturday morning.
