Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Government on Saturday decided to amend the State University Act with regard to appointment of Vice-Chancellors. Eligibility for V-C
According to the proposed amendment, a person above the age of 65 years will not be eligible to apply for the post of Vice-Chancellor. The duration of a V-C’s period will be fixed as three years while the upper age limit will be fixed at 68 years. The decision was taken by the State Cabinet presided over by Chief Minister Mayawati, her principal secretary Shailesh Krishna told reporters here. Similar amendments have also been proposed for U.P. Technical University, State Agriculture University and Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj Medical University Acts, he said. Some may go
