Gangster killed in attack

CUTTACK: A gangster was killed on Friday night in a bomb attack.

Godhi alias Ranjan Kumar Mahala of Pareswar Sahi of the city was killed when three brothers of another gangster Tanua Patra hurled at least three bombs on him. A severely injured Ranjan was shifted to SCB hospital where he succumbed to the injuries, police said. SP Soumendra Priyadarshi on Saturday said the accused persons -- four brothers of Pareswar Sahi who are now absconding -- would soon be apprehended.

Police said Ranjan who was booked under NSA earlier had over 25 cases against him in several police stations.
