BHUBANESWAR: In a major development, the State Government on Saturday announced a series of welfare programmes for tribal population. The measures that were finalised at a high-level meeting chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, include launching of a new programme called `Mo Jami, Mo Ghara Diha’. A campaign will be held in every tehsil to resolve land disputes. Steps would be taken to fill posts within six months. The decisions include augmenting irrigation and formation of at least one women’s SHG in each tribal village and forest protection councils. A sum of Rs. 5 crore will be provided to the TDCC to intensify its activities.
