Residents advised to ensure maximum security measures in apartments
Hyderabad: “Install surveillance cameras in apartments and ward-off thefts.” This was the message communicated by the City Police to residents of Tarnaka here on Saturday. Participating as a chief guest at the Tarnaka Residents’ Welfare Associations’ 4th Social Dialogue session on Police-Public Cooperation, Additional Commissioner of Police (Coordination) N.V. Surendra Babu advised residents to ensure maximum security measures in apartments. ‘Exercise caution’
He asked flat owners to check antecedents of maids, drivers and security guards before recruiting them as a spate of incidents involving such persons took place in twin cities. On the demand for establishing a separate police station for Tarnaka, Mr. Babu said the government should take a decision on the matter. However, the two vacant sub-inspectors posts in Osmania University police station would be filled very soon, he asserted. Problems pertaining to nuisance created by customers coming to a wine shop on the Lalapet - Tarnaka road, rise of pick pocketing cases, house burglaries and chain snatchings in Street No. 8 in Hubsiguda and haphazard parking at Gokul Nagar, St. Ann’s High School and Hotel Sanman at Tarnaka were brought to the notice of police. Association president Rao. V.B.J. Chelikani said similar dialogue sessions would be conducted regularly with all government departments for redressal of residents’ grievances.
