Colourful show at ISKCON fest

Students present classical dances and take part in competitions

HUBLI: School children of various age groups dressed in colourful attire enthralled the audience at the Heritage Fest organised by the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) here on Sunday.

The children from Class 1 to 10, dressed in traditional outfits, presented classical dances like Bharatanatyam and other forms in groups.

Other children, in school uniform, collectively decorated the temple premises as part of the flower arrangement competition. They made garlands, bouquets and special flower arrangements, decorating the temple premises.

‘Beautiful’

President of ISKCON, Hubli-Dharwad region, Rajiv Lochan Das, said after the competition was over, the temple looked even more beautiful with the arrangements made by the students.

Competitions

ISKCON Hubli-Dharwad has organised various competitions as part of its Heritage Fest, in which nearly 6,000 students are expected to participate. The festival will conclude on August 24.

Objective

“The objective of the festival is to provide a platform for the students to showcase their talent and at the same time introduce them to our rich heritage and culture”, he said.

Ten competitions have already been completed, and in the next five days, another 12 will be held.

The winners will receive a total of 150 gold, silver and bronze medals and 50 trophies.
