Udhagamandalam: The Nilgiris District AIADMK has stated that despite an order of the apex court stone quarrying was being done in the district. Stating that large scale quarrying was going on at Kodhumudi Murathallah near here, the district secretary of the party Adar Selvaraj has alleged that it was being done with the connivance of officials. In a petition submitted to the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption police here on Saturday,he demanded a thorough investigation. Claiming that officials were turning a blind eye to the illegal activity, he said that appropriate action should be taken against the officials concerned.
