NEW DELHI: A 30-year-old woman was set afire allegedly by her sister-in-law over a property dispute at Laxmi Nagar here on Sunday. While the accused has been arrested, the victim has been admitted to Safdarjung Hospital with 30 per cent burns. According to the police, an altercation broke out between Jogender Verma and his wife Usha Rani around 9-15 a.m. following which the former left in a huff. Around the same time, Jogender’s elder sister Sunita, who is mathematics teacher at Sarvodaya Bal Vidyalaya in Rani Bagh, arrived there and requested Usha not to fight with her brother. At this, Usha lost her temper. She returned with a can filled with kerosene, poured it on Sunita and allegedly set her afire. Sunita was rushed to hospital where her condition is stated to be critical.
