Woman allegedly strangled to death

NEW DELHI: A 50-year-old woman was allegedly strangled to death by her male companion at Timarpur here on Saturday.

Asha, a widow staying at Sanjay Basti, was allegedly killed by her companion of several years, Pappu, because he suspected her of cheating on him.

Pappu, a resident of Sonepat, strangled the victim late on Saturday night at a park in the locality using her own “chunni”.

Asha had earlier been married to a Municipal Corporation of Delhi employee.
