NEW DELHI: The Delhi police are now not ruling out the suicide angle in the case of the young fashion designer who was allegedly set afire outside her house in the upmarket Greater Kailash-II here over a week ago. The victim Mona Suri had in her statement to the police alleged that two young men poured some inflammable liquid on her and set her ablaze. Though they are investigating the attempt-to-murder angle, they are also looking into the possibility of Mona setting herself ablaze. The police have found that the incident took place on the veranda of Mona’s house. There are no eyewitnesses to the incident and investigations into the suspected involvement of the victim’s husband Naveen and his colleague and close friend Rachna have also not yielded any result so far. The police have verified their movements along with that of Naveen’s another colleague and friend Rajeev Sharma, but are still nowhere near cracking the case. “In such circumstances, we are also investigating the possibility of Mona setting herself afire,” said a police officer.
