Aditya, Vishnu make merry

Sports Reporter

Coimbatore: Aditya Patel proved his class once again with a commanding win in the senior class in the fourth leg of the JK Tyre Rotax Mojo Max karting challenge at the Kari Motor Speedway in Chettipalayam, near Coimbatore, on Sunday.

The 19-year-old Economics student of Loyola College (Chennai) kept a decent pace in the first half of the race. He later built on that to win it hands down. Rayomand Banajee of Pune maintained a close distance for most part of the race but found it hard to catch upon the leader towards the end. Vishnu Prasad of Chennai, who turned 14 on Saturday, preferred to celebrate his birthday a day later with a challenging win in the junior class. Midway through, he did face some stiff opposition for a brief period from Parth Ghorpade and Karan Goenka. But, he was quick to recover and convert it into a comfortable win.

It was Chennai lad Shashank Shankar’s fourth win in a row in the mini max category.

The results: Seniors (25 laps): 1. Aditya Patel, 2. Rayomand Banajee, 3. Ameya Walavalkar. Juniors (20 laps): 1. Vishnu Prasad, 2. Karan Goenka, 3. Parth Ghorpade. Mini Max (10 laps): 1. Shashank S hankar 2. Dhruv Mohite 3. Suriya Raghuraman.
