Indian standard time

The term Indian Standard Time might be a cliché when it comes to the inordinate delay before the start of public functions and meetings. It is a different case with the officials of the Department of Fisheries and Forests.

The officials proved that punctuality is more than an elusive virtue when they inaugurated Harithathee ram,’ a project aimed at protecting the fisher folk from natural calamities and sea erosion by planting trees, at Perumathura last week. The programme scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. started on time with Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan and other dignitaries turning up at the venue ahead of schedule.
