Puducherry: The Puducherry Society for the Care of the Aged (PONCARE), a Government undertaking, has proposed to set up old age homes on a “free-cum-pay and stay” basis at three places. An official release said here on Tuesday that the homes would be established in areas under the Villianur commune, Bahour commune and Karaikal municipality. Persons, above 60 years and not in a position to pay the fees, were eligible to join the homes. Pensioners and others, capable of paying, would be admitted with a 50 per cent discount on the total expenses, the release added. — Special Correspondent
