Tiwari to be sworn in as Governor today

Ceremonial welcome: Andhra Pradesh Governor-designate Narayan Dutt Tiwari inspecting a guard of honour on his arrival in Hyderabad on Tuesday.

HYDERABAD: Andhra Pradesh Governor-designate Narayan Dutt Tiwari will be sworn in at the Raj Bhavan here at 9.45 a.m. on Wednesday by High Court Chief Justice G.S. Singhvi.

After the function, Mr. Tiwari will leave for Tirupati for a darshan of Lord Venkateswara, as planned earlier.

On arrival here, he was accorded a ceremonial reception at the airport.

He inspected a guard of honour after alighting from the aeroplane, before going over to meet Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, Speaker K.R. Suresh Reddy, PCC president K. Keshav Rao and a host of senior Congress party leaders who turned up to receive him.

Mr. Tiwari exchanged hugs with long time party colleagues, Finance Minister K. Rosaiah and former Ministers M. Satyanarayana Rao and K. Bapi Raju.

Chief Secretary J. Harinarayan and DGP M.A. Basith were present.
