Lalu Prasad’s statement condemned
Staff Reporter
TIRUPUR: The Tirupur Consumer Voice (TCV) has expressed shock over the statement by the Railway Minister, Lalu Prasad, inviting Chief Ministers of Tamil Nadu and Kerala to decide on the boundaries of proposed Salem division.
In a letter to Mr. Lalu Prasad, the TCV secretary, P. Somasundaram, on Tuesday objected the proposal of meeting both the Chief Ministers to decide on the boundary and termed it unnecessary. He recalled the strike work held in Tirupur and Coimbatore in February in support of formation of the Salem division.
No compromise
As far as the people of Tamil Nadu, particularly from this region, Mr. Somasundaram said, “there cannot be any compromise on our stand that no part of Tamil Nadu should be administered by the Palakkad Railway division.”
