Prakash to have wrist surgery

NEW DELHI: Prakash Amritraj has been hampered by a torn ligament on his left wrist that has forced him to seek surgery.

“I have been playing with pain, without any fuss, all through this summer, but the pain is too much now and the only way to repair it is surgery,” Prakash said.

“The U.S. Open was my goal at the start of this comeback and I am going to give it a shot, with a one-handed backhand. I will have my surgery at Los Angeles on returning from the Open, Prakash said. — Special Correspondent
